Help me out guys!
My truck is an 85 GMC with a 305 LE9 engine, its only current modifications are ceramic coated headers and real dual exhaust, I recently purchased a RAM AIR BOX(like Swervin's) from a buddy who purchased a RAM JET crate engie. My Question is will the Ram Air box lean the truck out too much with the stock but recently rebuilt Q-jet due to the increase in air intake? Thanks Rob ![]() ![]() Also I'am planning the stock style GM air inlet snorkels on my truck. |

Maybe a tad. I've richened my primaries on my 1904 Edelbrock Q-jet. I left the jets the same and went from 50 rods to 48. Works great. Don't know about the stock carb though as I never had my Ram Air with the stock carb.
Don't try to gain power from the primary side though. If it runs good at cruise/part throttle, it's fine. Power is gained from those big back barrels. ![]()
