steering shaft question
Has anyone ever tried to put a 1990's Jeep CHEROKEE STEERING SHAFT on a 92 GMC Sierra are any model. There is a video on youtube of a guy that say it is a direct fit. Reason I ask is my rag joint is going bad.

Re: steering shaft question
Its sort of a direct fit. If its the same video I watched, the guy just telescoped it in by hand and bolted it up. Its not that easy. You need to burn out the energy absorbing pins then it'll bolt up...

Re: steering shaft question
I tried it today, went to pull a part and found a 93 jeep cherokee steering shaft for $12.00 no mods was needed a direct fit. Made the truck ride a 100% better.

Re: steering shaft question
Cherokee has ujoints instead of a rag joint, which take away the play in the steering.
