First time drive
Well I drove my truck for the first time today. After 2 months of this and that tinkering I drove it around the block twice. I noticed the tranny wouldn't shift gears. It felt like it stayed in first the entire drive. Any ideas what it could be? It's a turbo 400. Thanks!

Re: First time drive
Well from what I read you have a 68 C10, stuck a used motor in front of an unknown trans. Did you ever get the fluid and filter changed? What did the fluid look like? Is the fluid level correct hot? How fast were you driving the truck (no throttle 1-2 upshift is like 5mph and WOT is about 25-30mph)? Is the vacuum modulator hooked up? Did you download the service manuals?

Re: First time drive
You can also try and shift it manually and see if it shifts....

Re: First time drive
Check your vacume lines from the back of the manifold to the modulator, you could have some cracks/leaks.

Re: First time drive
Agreed...if you hadnt rechecked your vacuum lines, try starting there first. You really should put the trans and power brake booster on dedicated vacuum ports. everything else can share.
