rusted 72 GMC $$$

Just brought my project in the shop and start a list of what i need to rebuild it. I have around 3500$ just in metal sheet without shipping(LMC).And that doesnt count time, alot of time.

Attachment 1171142

Attachment 1171143

I figure its gonna cost me minimum 10 000$ just in parts, engine need to be rebuild, tranny ect ect ect.

But i came across this truck.

The guy is asking 6500$ for it,70 chevy step side short box,all original, paint was done 10 years ago(57 blue).Im not sure on the color but this can be change. So now im thinking What to do,this truck will be a better to start a project and i could swap the disk from my 72 and convert it to 5 lugs also.(70 is 6 lugs). The plan is to drop it 4.5"-6" static with coils and drop spindles.

What you guys thinks???

Re: rusted 72 GMC $$$

Given your location, I would thoroughly check for rust, you could end up in the same position you're in now. It could be the lighting, but the body looks really wavy down the sides and the door is sticking out past the fender & rocker on the DS.

You can buy one hell of a nice truck in the states for 10K.

So how much i should pay for it??He told me all metal sheet are solid no soft rusted spot, truck was born brown and repaint it chevy blue 1954 10 years ago.He buy all body part from LMC,brand new door seals(800$ deliver here).Truck have 80 000 miles and still got original engine I6 250.Two choices spend 5k at LMC or repaint this one.

Re: rusted 72 GMC $$$

Guess it depends on you. do you want to take the time on total rebuild or go with the other one. your gonna repaint the other one and the new sheetmetal is already 10 yrs old. Verses the rebuild will be all new sheetmetal. Hm decisions decisions..
It's your call.

Re: rusted 72 GMC $$$

Take a trip out to the states and bring this cheap beauty home (thought about it myself).

This one would be worth every bit of your trouble...
