Question about Primer
I'm getting ready to buy a gallon of primer. My buddy runs the Napa here in town so he's giving me a good deal on a gallon of primer and hardner. Wanted to get your opinion on this brand of primer Finish 1 2K HS Urethane Primer. He has all the supplies I will need to do all my body work and painting. I live in a small town so if I can buy local and help out a business in town I would prefer to do that. Also I've looked all over the gallon of paint and can't find anywhere that it tells me what size tip I need. Would 2.00mm be alright or maybe a 1.8. Thanks for any input.

Re: Question about Primer
If his price is under $100. it really is a good price, he sells what I use most of the time and put PPG paint over it. Either tip you mentioned should work.

Re: Question about Primer
I use a 2.0 and a 2.3 tips for my primer. The paint can is not gonna have any help for you cause the paint store is suppose to give you the "P" sheet and the MSDS sheet that goes with the product you buy. The "P" sheet is the one you really need to get from your buddy or go one the Martin Senior website and print one for yourself or at least look it over at the site so you know the mixes and temp ranges of the reducers and dry times flash times sand times and all the other fun stuff that you will gain from having the "P" sheet. The MSDS sheet is not such a biggie it is more along the lines of composition of the stuff so I wouldn't bother about it. Also let me leave you with a little tip[no pun intended] if you have not sprayed the thick prime before or the heavy stuff before,[I would bet that a gallon of MP282 high build will weight about 25 #or more]that is why I call it heavy primer. If you have not sprayed it before, mix a little base coat reducer in with it to get it to flow out of the gun so much more better. I mean less than 10%. Now I said base coat reducer some may call it stabilizer, I think M/S does IIRC.
