Bad Days

Everyone has bad days with their trucks and often they are a lot funnier after the fact. Now I am not talking the stolen truck, fire or divorce stories but more "you gotta laugh" improbabilities in life that happen to everyone.

Today I found that my two darlings managed to chew a good part of a fender off one of my Saturns. No doubt there was some yummy looking critter behind this but still... Sometimes its hard to laugh so please share yours.

Re: Bad Days

Not so funny if you consider the cost involved for the repair. This is actually a common problem at the GM Proving Ground and Nissan Proving Ground both in Arizona desert, in which I have had the pleasure of visiting in past job positions. The rabbits would hide in the bumper covers and the dogs would chew and tear the bumper covers right off to get to the rabbits.

True story my friends. Sorry about your luck Tim.

Re: Bad Days

I guess it's better than them chewing a hole in the plastic oil pan.

Some experience with my first car (impala):

Friends dog liked to piss on my chrome wheels that I polished almost daily.

Someone forgot to set parking brake after repairing my brothers car, brothers car rolls back in the driveway and into my passenger door (nice dent).....

Body shop left a nice curb rash on one of my wheels while repairing dented door....

Months later new paint on the door and quarter starts to peel and flake off..

Some other crazy kids thought it was a good idea to pull a Kmart shopping cart down the street with a car and slam it into the front of my car.....

I destroyed the rear differential doing high school burn outs

Some things are so far out there, that you don't need a laugh track to get a giggle.

Re: Bad Days

Thanks for all the replies.
The dogs are well and alive but they can sleep soundly. Sometimes I can walk up on one of my sleeping Huskies like that and have to look real hard to see if they are breathing.
Bruce's picture is an exaggeration but not by much sometimes. Actually have seen rabbits sitting there close by pondering if the sleeping dogs are alive or a threat.
Jocko "fender bender" is just too funny and still has me doing the occasional chuckle.
The costs, just doing a thumbnail estimate from memory it would have been about $450 for new parts, paint and install.

Re: Bad Days

^^^^Ha that's funny. I had an ole car that I drove every day back and forth to work. It was a beater and nothing fancy or cool about it. At home our driveway was steep and my stepfather would park his trailer at the bottom of the driveway. One night I came home from work pulled the car into the drive way and went in the house. Got me something to drink. Sat down watched the late show and WHAM!!! My first thoughts one of our drunk neighbors ran into somebodies car parked on the street. But it turned out my car liked to roll on its' own. Somehow it jumped out of gear, auto too and rolled down the hill hit the trailer shoving it all the way against the old garage. I got lucky. Poor garage would have fallen if a stiff wind blowed. My mom comes down looks at the car looks at me and says, "Didn't you put it in Park?" "Yeah I thought so..." No hurt to car other than a jacked up bumper. I've got tons of stupid stories of misadventures like this........
