Saturday fishing

My friend was an avid fisherman, in the habit of taking off early every Saturday for the lake. One such morning he got up before dawn, as usual, went downstairs, made his lunch, and went out to hook up his boat to his truck. It was raining particularly hard, and the wind was howling 50 miles an hour. He sat in the truck a while, contemplating the day ahead, listening to the weather report on the radio. The weatherman was predicting wind gusts near 60 miles an hour all day, and several inches of rain. He thought better of the days trip, unhooked the boat, and went back inside. Deciding he could make good use of the bad weather anyway, he went upstairs, undressed, and got back into bed. As he snuggled up behind his wife, he quietly said, "It's really miserable out there!" She replied, "I know, can you believe my husband is out there fishing anyway?"

That did happen to a guy I worked with only they were going pheasant hunting. Both of the lovers were really lucky he left his gun in the truck. He did get a quick divorce and a real good settlement.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he sits in a boat and drinks beer all weekend...

I avoid that problem by taking my wife with me. But it makes me wonder what my teenage boy does when we go fishing for a day.
