new or used, cheaper the better.
I would assume standard length, going on a 72 C10 which will be dropped 4-5" in rear.

you can get the cpp one for $49 with free shipping...and it's powdercoated black....you couldn't make one yourself and get it powdercoated that cheap...

FYI -- If you do say 3" springs and 2" blocks in the rear your truck will ride better than a 5" all spring drop.

I would suggest shock relocation brackets too in the 4-5" drop range. (saw your other post)

Thanks Chad, appreciate ur suggestion. Right now I have 4" drop rear springs on the way. Gonna try them & see if I want to add 1-2" blocks if I want to go further. At that point I will add the relocation brackets. Also gonna try cutting 1 full coil off the front spring to see how it sits. This will give me a better idea of final drop without buying parts I may not want/need.

Cut springs are OK, but just remember the original spring has probably sagged a little over the years. So, say you put new 2" drop springs in it you're only going to get .75-1" net drop over where it is right now.

Also, the coil spring will become stiffer if you cut it. The ride might be a little harsh compared to stock. The spring is just a straight piece of metal wire all coiled up .. right? Think of it like a diving board that's 8ft long. 250lb guy jumps on the end.. the board will flex, then he goes in the pool.

Now cut two feet off the board. The same guy dives off. The board will not flex as much, he won't go as high.. but it still flexes.. make sense?

I'd suggest 1/2 a turn and try it first. A full turn will gibe you about 2-2.5" drop. Its more than just the height of one coil to the next.. remember you're cutting out that tension in the extra coil too.. not just the height overall.
