Industrial epoxy Paints.

Currently my truck is parts from 3 different trucks, and none the same color. Plus what paint there is is pretty bad.

I was thinking of industrial paint since I have a 4x4, and do not want to worry about scratches.

Or

Has anyone ever done this? I am only concerned with rust protection, and it being one color. Probably white since it hides a lot of sins.

Re: Industrial epoxy Paints.

I've painted several trucks with equipment enamel before and it turned out very well. Just keep in mind the key still lies in the prep. If the paint on the parts that you have placed on your truck is bad then your paint job will end up bad and new paint will now "cover up "anything but only high light it. Jim

I plan to prep the metal the best it can as an initial run. Just to get it 1 color.

Then I plan to fix the body issues it is having, and do a final coat.

Epoxy is not UV stable. It will get Chalky looking. It will last a long time but will not stay looking nice.

Do you think a wax would prevent it from becoming chalky?

Re: Industrial epoxy Paints.

Buffing I heard does help keep it down. As you'd remove the top layer thus cleaning it up.

That is why I think white is the best color. White already hides body issues the best, and if it does chalk it just looks dull white.

My concern is when I take m truck down fire roads where I have been before if I scrape my paint I do not want to get mad. Or just blaze my own trail, and just look for rocks. Like if I paid for a decent paint job, and have a bit.
