55 chevy emergency brake

Hi,

I am hoping that someone has had this problem before so I don't have to re-invent the wheel.
I am try to set up an emergency brake for my 55 Chevy pickup that has a Camaro clip and Camaro rear end. I am missing the original E-brake handle and the rods that attach to it. I have a foot pedal setup from a Chevy Lumina that I am going to use. Here is the question. What cables should I use on the rear axle? Should I use Camaro components or the original 55 Chevy truck stuff going from the rear axle to the lever that's mounted on the midpoint of the frame? If so will the 55 cables hook up to the backing plate and arm inside the brake drum?

Thanks
