700r4 conversion

Converting to a stock 700r4 with a lockout kit. Need advise on an inexpensive but reliable external cooler.

Re: 700r4 conversion

Any of the quality ones will do a good job- the laminar flow ones are best. Whatever you do, run a thermostat on the line to the cooler. Automatic transmissions run best when well-cooled, but they perform best when they are at operating temperature. Also, run LubeGard additive- it is the only one recommended by OEMs- it's not a magic liquid cure-all, but it helps the fluid run cooler and helps to facilitate smoother shifts.
