Cool Door wiring?

OK, I bought a driver door of off a 1991 Chevy suburban Saturday at the local yard, had to act fast because people were eyeing it, lol. It is a power door same as my 1984 c10 which I bought it to replace the bondoor the po installed.
My question is the wiring is for a 4 way window switch and my truck is a 2 way switch, are the wires complicated to make work with the truck harness?

Thanks as always for your time and advice. It is greatly appreciated.

Re: Door wiring?

Power window and Power lock wiring sub-harnesses occasionally show up on evilbay.

How bad is the wiring chopped up?

Download the 1984 & 1991 wiring diagrams.
1984 power windows and power locks are spread across page 13
1991 power windows information starts on Page 149 and ends on page 155. Power locks and power mirrors start on page 140 and run to page 148.

Select the panes in the 1984 diagrams that you want to look at closely using the snapshot tool and print the individual panes re-scaled to fill a US Letter (8.5x11) size page.
This is how to do it--->https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/p...at-reader.html

The 1991 diagrams are scanned from 11x17 pages. If you don't have access to a printer that will handle Tabloid (11x17) paper you can print Black & White pages on Tabloid size paper at FedEx Office pretty cheap...

Cool Re: Door wiring? Door is on but not without bs to deal with!

Went to the junkyard to install door and connect wiring my wires were rolled up and zip tied underneath the dash...took my door lock mechanism out the the truck door and it clicks and unlocks the pass side but not the new door, also window motor is really loose in new door and glass can be pulled down, the damn door won't open switched inside door handle and still nothing.
How difficult is it to switch all of my internal parts to the new door because I tested my and all worked great. The only reason for the swap was the thick bondo on the old door.

As always it is highly appreciated for your help. Thanks.

Re: Door wiring?

The latch and window regulator is a pretty straightforward R&R. GM used the same door shells from 1978-1991 for power and manual. Trim changed but the shell is the same.

It's been a while. The latch retainer machine screws may be Torx head... Don't quote me on it tho.

The very early latch rod connectors are metal. Not sure when GM changed to plastic. If you break a plastic latch rod retainer you can get replacements pretty easy. You may want to swap them all out while you're in there. The old ones are probably pretty brittle.

The lock is pretty easy to remove. Don't loose the Jesus clip.

Be sure to liberate the braces and reinforcing plates for your flavor of mirror and your interior trim if they differ from the 91. I'd liberate the boot for the wiring too even if the new one is good.
