Need a guinea pig for '60-'62 front sway bar testing
Yup... I got THIIIIIIS close to having a bolt-on front sway bar for '60-'62 Chevy trucks developed... had a prototype built, drove it around for a year, found it juuuust barely rubbed at full-lock going around corners with a bump in them, had a second prototype made... and then hit a 180-pound 8pt buck.
![]() Other project cars have gotten pushed forward, while the Suburban sits in a friend's pasture waiting for a new front end. So, I'm looking for someone with a '60-'62 Chevy (or GMC) truck, with stock Torsion Bar front suspension, that'd like a sway bar on the front of their truck. The front suspension needs to be rebuilt recently (I've got a pretty broad definition of "recently." Basically, it can't be worn out and loose... tight ball joints, a-arm bushings, etc.) Stock ride height, or lowered a couple inches with the t-bars cranked down. Must have 15-inch wheels, factory or aftermarket. (I have 15x7 5-slots up front, and the tire juuust kissed the sway bar as described above. So deep negative-offset wheels won't work for purposes of evaluation. I want to make sure it clears the broadest spectrum of users. And most importantly, I need someone who DRIVES their truck. A lot. ![]() If you're interested, send me an email (NOT a PM here) to "brad56@windstream.net" I'll need to see pics of your truck as it sits, and pics of the stock front suspension. -Brad
