Where does a newbie start?
Hey all,
I'm finally in a place where I can actually own my favorite truck of all time! BUT, where does one start when it comes to what to look for and how to look for it?? I know I want a patina look and an LS3. Is it possible to find/build this truck with all modern motor and suspension components for $25k or less? Any suggestions/info where to start would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! - Jeremy |

Re: Where does a newbie start?
You've already found the right place to start. And welcome to the board.
I would focus on determining exactly what you want (short or long, 2 or 4 wheel drive, specific years, etc.) and how much and what you are comfortable doing. Then I'd start looking for a vehicle that fits those parameters. Look at the build threads and see what others have done, and that may give you some ideas. |

Re: Where does a newbie start?
Start with Googling this:
site:67-72chevytrucks.com ls swap That will get you a ton of threads to start with. You can do it for under $25K if you buy one someone else already built. You can probably do it on your own as well, I think the ERod LS3 is about $8K so that'd leave a lot of room.

Re: Where does a newbie start?
Regardless of where you go, I recommend LOTS of photos along the way. Maybe start a build thread, documenting what you do to the truck can be motivational to keep going.
