1970 GMC custom 2500
Just wanted to show off my newest addition. Finally getting it to where I want it looks wise. This started off as a solid oklahoma truck and had a light restoration around 2010. It sold at a mecum auction in 2011 and then traded hands again before I bought it a couple months ago. I drove about 200 miles to pick it up and drove it home with zero issues. It's a mostly original 3/4 ton with factory air, power brakes and steering. It needed a few updates when I purchased it. Still have several small things to plug away at and update along the way. Fellow member Justin (68jwalk) painted the wheels and black on the tailgate. Also thanks to Eric (too much stuff) for the hard to find hubcaps! Anyways. Here's a few pictures. Before and as it is now....

Re: 1970 GMC custom 2500
Beautiful truck. I want to get mine tinted; How’s the brow on the windshield? Is it so low, that you are constantly looking through it? I cut and welded my seat brackets to lower the bench seat two inches, but I am worried I might still sit a little too tall for a brow. Is it an issue for you?

Looks great, much improvement in my book. The "showroom look" never goes out of style.

Re: 1970 GMC custom 2500
Thanks. I was looking for a 3/4 ton to work out of. Found this one and for the price couldn't pass it up. It's almost too nice to use. Inside of bed is perfect so I've been trying to use it some to ease into some scratches on the floor. I like the patina trucks way better in that aspect. No worries!!!!

Re: 1970 GMC custom 2500
Full agreement with most of the guys on this...the best thing was losing that set of wheels/tires that came with it.
Way better looking truck with the 'originals' on it....really nice and clean. Very nice truck Coley

Re: 1970 GMC custom 2500
Thanks for the compliments. I plan on it being one of my regular drivers. It runs really well. Need to address a few leaks and want to switch to disk brakes.
What spindles would you guys suggest? I've tried searching and haven't came across a set of 3/4 ton disk spindles for a 70. |

Re: 1970 GMC custom 2500
That looks really clean. Now you got me thinking about keeping my longhorn i have for sale and putting the stock wheels and hubcaps back on it.
