Balancer separated

I've heard stories, but never seen one. Until now. The dually always had a bit of an engine vibration. Was changing the fan clutch and crawled under to unbolt the fan shroud and found the outer ring had slid and was resting against the back of the lower pulley. I removed the pulley and the outer ring slid off, along with what was left of the rubber. Amazing how smooth this thing runs now with a new balancer. I can only imagine the carnage if the pulley had been smaller and allowed the outer ring to slide off completely while driving.

Check your balancers!!!
