Aftermarket Parts
Do any aftermarket parts fit correctly? Spent today plumbing up my AC as I put my truck back together. I purchased all new AC lines as I am switching over to r134a. Hoses are different length from originals and bends are different also. I'll make it work but you can't fasten support brackets the way they were from factory. Something as simple as aftermarket spark plug shields are junk. Just venting a little.

Re: Aftermarket Parts
What year is your truck? The A/C hoses I bought were made by Old Air. They were somewhat different from the originals on my '69. Then, I realized the later years used different hoses at least one of which was longer. It may have even been a mid-69 change. The metal lines were bent somewhat differently than the originals. With some very minor tweaking I was able to use all the original brackets.

Re: Aftermarket Parts
It is pretty much a given that some tweaking will be required with many aftermarket parts. Since many of them did not come out of OE molds and dies and maybe some short cutting was involved sometimes there are fitment issues.
I too bought a set of foreign made spark plug shields. They looked good alright until I went to put them on. One out of the four fit right. I threw them all in the box and tossed it in the can. I would rather do without than deal with ill fitting parts.
