Question Driver grade Chrome bumper care?

Chrome bumpers, As they rust a little, most use 0000 steel wool to polish it and remove the light rust, what are you using to wax or protect it afterwards? car is a driver so rechroming the bumpers is out, ideas?

Re: Driver grade Chrome bumper care?

FWIW, my old chrome wheels developed minor rust which I removed with 0000 steel wool. I tried waxing them and I swear it seemed like they rusted faster than before. After that I didn't treat them with anything, just cleaned them as needed.

Re: Driver grade Chrome bumper care?

I read this on the web and sounded crazy but worked amazing.
Use it to clean up chrome on am radio.

Wad up piece of aluminum foil.
Open it back up and rub it on the chrome with
A good amount of water.
Then I finish off with mothers aluminum and mag polish

Re: Driver grade Chrome bumper care?

I have some GM chrome polish but I suspect it's repackaged Turtle Wax. It seems to work well.
