1968 Chevy Truck and 1968 Mitchell "Luxury Liner"
Hi. I'm trying to figure out if there are any of these left on the road, besides mine. Does anyone have any info? Thanks in advance. TC

![]() THAT is nice, would love to see more pictures. And welcome to the board! Mitchell campers are awesome, motor homes even better! Below are a few different ones we've seen here over the years. No 68s though. #1 was for sale a while back, advertised as a 6k mile original, and I believe #2 is member 57napco's and #3 is member JDL's. Would love to have one of these cool old rigs some day. Pic #4 is just me dreaming.... ![]() Last edited by jocko; 06-17-2018 at 06:01 PM. |

Thanks for posting those - and the oven paint matches the interior paint! Bet that thing is fun.

Re: 1968 Chevy Truck and 1968 Mitchell "Luxury Liner"
Both seats are air ride and, yes, I painted the exterior last summer. I've only owned this for three years.
Here's the info in the original owner's manuals for the truck and camper: 1968 Chevrolet Truck 10-30, 4x2 chassis, V-8, 1 ton, Body – MRCH, Weight – 7450, Automatic Transmission, Turbo Hydra-Matic P, C 30 Series 1968 Mitchell 14’ Custom Luxury Liner I have no idea what MRCH refers to in regard to the truck body. I'll check the glovebox door for any additional info. TC |

How bout a SPID pic? (sheet pasted inside the glovebox door). Automatic trans, not that common in a 68! Did you just recently paint it white?

Welcome to th site. Mighty fine '68 C/30 that Mitchell is mounted on. Hey! What happened to park!! How about that, ey? It's GM's way of forcing us to keep peoper working parking brakes, I'll say that. I've been down that road.

Re: 1968 Chevy Truck and 1968 Mitchell "Luxury Liner"
What little experience I have with the larger stuff, it seems that not having Park meant having an Allison Hydro transmission, which seemed to me to be a 400 THM on steroids. At least the pan looked similar. My memory may not be serving me correctly; it's been decades since I've worked on one of them.

Re: 1968 Chevy Truck and 1968 Mitchell "Luxury Liner"
Here's a link to a thread on the chassis mounted rv. I know where five of them are here in town I believe there are quite a few around. Being close to fifty years old the campers on most aren't holding up quite well. The interiors being shaded by the camper seem to keep everything in the cab in nice shape so you see a lot of them being parted out. I have one that has a travette camper on it. Thanks for sharing.
