NP205 shifter lever
just got done rebuilding my 205, and did a test fit of the shifter and it wobbles side to side a lot. Does anybody have a source for a shifter lever bushing kit that comes with a new shouldered bolt? Not going twin stick.

Re: NP205 shifter lever
Two places I know of to get a shoulder bolt. Caveat is, they are both 9/16 thread. The shoulder is nice to bottom out and tighten and have appropriate space to let the lever move freely.
If you have 9/16 and can use the bolts here's the low down. You may need to get your lever cleanly machined to accept the greasable bolt. I used the JB bolt with bronzed flange bearings. Same as what JB ships, except with a flange. I pressed in the bushings, they were tight. Once in, the pressure on the bushings caused the shoulder bolt to be too tight and not fit. I put a sand drum on my dremel and carefully swilled it around inside until I got the bolt in with a snug fit. The new bolt with bushings work nicely. I still got plenty of rattling from my linkage. I had to pull or push the shift lever snug to stop the rattling/ringing. I got some spring washers and fashioned some washers out of a plastic milk jug. I used a combination of: spring washers, rubber washers and plastic washers to fill all the gaps where the linkage is cotter pinned together. My setup is now quiet and shifts like new. Good luck! ![]() https://jb-custom-fabrication.myshop...lt-upgrade-kit http://jkwoffroad.com/offroadproducts.php j

Re: NP205 shifter lever
I've got some late model shifters with the rubber insulator built into the shifter. I have them on Ebay. Let me know if they work for you.

Re: NP205 shifter lever
just a heads up offroad design twin and tripple stick kits come with poly bushings in them to mimic the rubber ones from the last few years .
i have had ord levers for years with zero rattles and clanging around . used mine a few times today plowing and driving . smooth and clean fell . so if you dont want stock and wish to have more control of t-case options look them up .

Re: NP205 shifter lever
just a fyi : you do know holding pressure / tension on the lever will wear the shift fork pad a lot faster and maybe even the lock ring the fork moves . this later on will give you tons of play in the system .

Re: NP205 shifter lever
On the original shifters, I'm pretty sure they used wave washers to limit the side to side slop. I actually have a shifter and bolt that still has one WW in the next room...
I'd try the little drawers of hardware at the hardware store. https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...31.zt60EeRiG3M |
