2018 Silverado 5'8" bed to the Ocho

I have the short short bed truck, and I wish I could of gotten a long bed. I need to keep the crew cab because my personal life demands I sit 3-4 people regularly. I do not want to swap out trucks for the 6.5 bed since they are fairly rare, and I would have to order one to get the WT package I love. Plus a 2500 is to much for what I do. Then I am not a fan of the new 19's.

Has anyone cut into these new trucks? I know they feel very stiff compared to the Square bodies I love a lot. Plus they have can carry quite a lot so the frame should be quite good. From what I have gathered the frame I have seems to be as strong or slightly stronger then the C30 frame. Even though the payload capacity is very different. Mostly due to the better axles I don't have that a 1 ton would.

Right now I am on disability due to tearing my knee up pretty good, and I have been picking up stuff for my friend to pass the time. Plus a few bucks spending money. So between doing fishing trips, and hauling stuff. I wish the bad was a 8 footer so it would be easier for me to sleep in the bed.

I am either thinking extend this truck or get a cclb square body down the road. I just really like the ride, mpg, and performance of the new truck. Even though the USS Nimitz would be able to turn inside of me. I still would like one for personal reasons.
