4x4 Engine Crossmember trouble

I removed my old engine crossmember while the engine is out because it the previous owner had welded things together and it looked kind of sketchy. I purchased the DIY 4x kit and have planned on using it until I test fit it on the engine. The pieces on each side make contact with the exhaust manifolds unless I take several shims on the engine block, when I do that on one side it is no longer centered and the other side is way off. Without crafting some new pieces (which is beyond what I can do) I don't think it will work. I may end up either finding a replacement oem or sticking the old POS back in. This is a transplanted big block not original. Thoughts?

So I contacted DIY4x and they are going to make some custom brackets for me to remedy. So far I am impressed with the quality and customer service with this company!

That's 'cuz the factory 4xs didn't have a big block in them. Plus they had ram horn manifolds
