k10 cab mount brackets
Question: are the rear cab mount brackets the same for 2wd and 4wd trucks?
Background: I've got a '62 k10 frame. PO torched the rear cab mount brackets and welded them back on a few inches to the rear, and a few inches higher (maybe for the chewed up '65 cab that he put on there?) I plan to cut them off, knock out the original rivets, and replace with a factory bracket. Do I need a 4x4 specific rear cab mount bracket, or is a 2wd rear cab mount bracket the same as the 4x4? Did the 4x4 rear cab mount bracket change in '63, or were they the same from '60-'66? I'm putting a '63 cab on this frame, and I'm under the impression that the rear cab mounting position did not change from '60 to '66.

Re: k10 cab mount brackets
The rear cab mount is the same '63-'66 whether a C series or a K series. I believe the '60-'62 K series would use the same rear cab mount as the '63-'66 C or K. The distance front to back is the same for '60-'66. It is just the front mount on the '60-'62 cabs that is farther apart side to side.

Re: k10 cab mount brackets
Okay, check this out.
Here are some pictures of the Driver's side rear cab mount. The PO torched it off of the original mounting point and welded it higher and a little further back. He had then mounted a 64,5,6 cab on the frame (which I long ago removed and sold). The other picture is a stock rear cab mount off of a '64 2wd truck. My '63 2wd rear cab mount looks the same. It sits approximately 1 inch higher than the top of the frame rail. The positioning of the butchered cab mount on my k10 frame sits close to one inch higher than the frame rail. The factory mounting position of the rear cab mount on my k10 frame looks like it would have been 1" below the top of the frame rail. I have about 2.5" between the top rail of the frame on the '64 and the bottom rear cab seam, so it looks like pulling the rear cab mounts off of the '64 and mounting them (assuming the mounting holes are the same center to center) on the k10 frame would work. I would have 1/2" of space between the top rail and the bottom seam of the cab, though fresh body mounts would probably increase that a little. Will someone post up some front and rear cab mount pics of 60-62 k10's and '63-'66 k10's? That would really help me understand how this was supposed to come from the factory and help me figure out how to put it back together.

That's great, now I'm curious to see a '60-'62 k10 rear cab mount bracket
