Need some opinions
This is probably better suited for the paint and body section but, it’ll get more responses here. 5/7 drop, turbo 5.3 and ar5 5 speed. I’m stuck between buying new short bed sides or cutting down my originals. I’ve already cut the frame and most of the work to the chassis is done aside from some smoothing, blast and powered coat. Truck is fairly solid as a whole and I will be fixing the rust on the cab. I’m confident enough with my metal skills to do this but am not familiar with the paint process and like the original look of my truck. It did take 53 years to get this way so... Am I money ahead trying to find a competent painter to try and match and blend new bedsides or cut down my very straight and clean originals? Current state of affairs included.

Re: Need some opinions
If you can do it, cut them down. Having the little 1" seam in the paint seems to be all the rage right now along with the Patina.

Re: Need some opinions
And check out the way landarts did one stage touch up paint in certain places and it blended in so you can't even tell.

Re: Need some opinions
I would say do it! Built not bought is my motto. You can find some info for Ghost Lines probably here, and over on SPI user forums.
Looked at that in detail, a good or great body man knows about this. |
