squarebody blazer tank swap question
First please relocate if this is not the right place to post this
Wanting to do the swap for a fitech or sniper TBi setup I have searched the forums and see this is a fairly reasonable swap to do with minor mods and fabrication as well as fairly economical too. Planning on either the 25 or 31 gallon I do not see any reason as to why one is better than the other. Also how does the 87-92 sending unit work as far as fuel gauge working? This is for a 72 K10 |

Re: squarebody blazer tank swap question
I used a 25 gallon in my 72. GM used fuel gauges all had the same ohm measurements till the late 90s so your factory gauge should be fine. I am using new vintage gauges.

How did you run your fuel filler? Is there enough clearance between top of tank and bottom of the bed? |

Re: squarebody blazer tank swap question
I cut a fuel door out of a 98 Silverado. I bought one 45 degree steel bend, and universal straight hose from my local CARQUEST. The way I mounted the crossmembers from the donor suburban I had use a mud flap to space the tank down for the fill neck. I notched the bed crossmembers to clear the bump on top of the tank.

Re: squarebody blazer tank swap question
My filler sits between the crossmembers. It would be possible to mount the tank lower so you did not have to but l like that the tank is hidden.

Re: squarebody blazer tank swap question
4wd. Drivers side fill. I used nylon fuel lines for a 97 suburban. they were long enough that I didn't have to mess with changing how the lines come out of the sending unit when installing the tank for drivers side fill.
