Help identify part and where to purchase.
This has a button that is engaged when one of the arms on my heater controls is engaged. It is hooked up to 2 wires which I am assuming the button is either powered on or cut off when the flap on the heater control box is shut. I really dont know what it does.
I have heater w/AC. LMC doesnt list the part. This one is pretty corroded and bent so I am hoping someone could identify it and have suggestions on where to purchase. It is in a 1972 gmc k2500. Thank you. |

Re: Help identify part and where to purchase.
That is a normally-open electrical switch. When the plunger is pressed, the contacts close to send 12vdc to the A/C compressor to engage the clutch.

Re: Help identify part and where to purchase.
Just dug through some old emails.... A few years back, I sprayed mine thoroughly and cycled it extensively, and got it to work just part of the time. Before I discovered what it was called or how to locate one from a vendor, I noticed "INDAK" stamped on the switch. Google helped me contact the manufacturer. I'm not sure if they normally sell to the public, but I spoke with a gentleman who took pity on me. He sold me a J634A switch at a reasonable price, and it's an exact match to OEM and it works perfectly. Here's a link:
