picked a bad time for an ls swap--- dakota digital dash
I've decided to get one of the Dakota digital rtx-67c-pu-x dashes to make things easy. the problem is the world seems to be out of them. this isn't the only part or item that is out of stock.
you all noticing that everything is getting hard to find... the world ending? lol

Unless Dokata has it on the shelf, which will likely be in a nasty face and/or led color, the wait to build is 12 weeks or so I believe.

Re: picked a bad time for an ls swap--- dakota digital dash
The delay is most likely due to the worldwide micro chip shortage. Just run your original cluster until you can get the digital.
Edit: Sorry, you said "easy". To me, easy is using the original. Might have to wait on speedo working (depending on transmission) until you can get the Dakota Digital. Oh, and drill the head for the proper temp sender, and mod the oil sender to work with the mechanical gauge. Ok, I get what you are saying. But, I did all that because I like the original look. I was going to use the Dakota Digital ECD-200BT-1 to drive the speedo, but I bet that is in short supply as well. |

Earlier this year same story with LS swap harnesses. Speartech was 13-14 weeks at best.

China virus had companies and manufacturing close their doors and lay off workers for months. Catching up with the same or less workers isn't easy. Finding people willing to work also seems to be an issue just about everywhere since the lockdowns.

Even if they are USA made, there are lots of little doo dads that they get from overseas. For whatever reason there are a lot of shortages of little things due to world events.

This is it. There's longer lead times on a lot of things. It took me 3 months to get some generic 2-digit 7 segment LED displays.

Re: picked a bad time for an ls swap--- dakota digital dash
I have found that almost every large size replacement radiator for 70's GM vehicles are not in stock on Rockauto.com
It was odd that a couple radiators for a couple applications were not available. But if you look at almost any GM car from the 70's almost every large HD radiator is not available. I don't know what's going on with this world but it's annoying me. |

Doesn't sound like a little do-dads problem with raditors. If you need one, I heard last week that ECP has them in stock.

A lot of supply problems where I work. It isn't just car parts, a lot of industrial parts are hard to get right now.

Re: picked a bad time for an ls swap--- dakota digital dash
I have the RTX gauges and they are great. I would definitely do it again. I have LS swap and the OBD BIM made the hookup very easy.
