Yep, we're just crazy Texans
My Dad bought this project '72 GMC Burb after we had just finished my truck. $500- It didnt' run when we got it, I had lots of rust and plenty of character!!
we got the engine running within a week or two. but the motor smoked terribly and would never run right. so when I put a new motor in my truck (that was the short-lived v-tec 350 that I replaced within 7000 miles because of my stupidity) my Dad bought my old running motor for $250 installed. AND THAT'S WHEN WE SERIOUSLY STARTED LOOKING AT WHY THE DOORS WERE NOT CLOSING PROPERLY!!!! On the drivers side the front floor brace was GONE, along with the rocker, and most of the floor and when you picked up on the door the whole cowl area would move. We should have quit then, but we decided to see if we could fix it. So we ordered $2000 worth of cheap repop sheetmetal from CI(the second and LAST order from them). and started working on it this week. after a new brace, inner rocker panel, and front and back piller repair patches the door finally does not sag. some pictures (i'm still working on finding the before pictures) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and still more to go: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
