Steering problems

Had a ram assist and steering box was shot so i removed and noticed the center link is totaly different than power and manual steering center link. Went to junk yard and got a center link off of a 70 c-10 and a manual steering box off a 68 C-10. Removed center link and everything connected to it. Set the new center link in the truck and bolted the new box in. all went together pretty easy. Only one problem the pitman arm on the steering box seems to be to long and will not bolt in the center link. I assume there is different size pitman arms and why would there be a lenght difference? Both parts are from a manual steering set up. Truck has been sitting for 8 months and im tired of seeing her sit. Please help my truck is depending on you.
