Hi,

What are you guys and gals doing with the rear inside part of your cab after you remove the tank to cover it up? Just putting carpet in or is there a company that makes something I can cover it up with that looks decent?

If you have pictures please post them up too.

I am going to fashion a piece of 5/8" particle board, round off the corners with a router and cover it with some black vinyl leather looking material.

I picked up some tile backer board and put carpet on it. I left extra carpet on the edges so I can go around the sides of the cab to the door frame area.

Here is a pic of it - not secured yet.

You can also get a piece of carpet pre-cut to fit that area from Tim Christian. Thats were I got mine a few weeks ago.

I'm going leather interior.. ( one of these days) And not sure if I want to cover this in Leather or Carpet.

I covered the entire inside back of the cab with Dynamat look-a-like. Put strips of foam in the recesses. Then, 1/8" Masonite glued up with Liquid Nails across the entire back cut out to fit exactly. Next, fabricated 18 gauge pieces at the cab corners for speakers rolled at the top corners to blend into the cab back panel and attached them to angle iron flanges welded to the cab at the piller and cab back. Then, put a piece of 1 X 4 between the cab mounting hole brackets on the floor and a short piece of 1 X 4 on the outside ends with a taper to match the angle of the floor. Ground down the cab mounting bolts, then glued a piece of Masonite across the entire width of the cab to where the angle drop offs start on each side. Finally, I covered the whole shebang in one piece of trunk liner material used in late model vehicles. It's all flat, smooth and updated looking.

Here it is during the mock up. I'll try to get some "after" pictures this weekend.

I built a custom sub enclosure to fit my Digital audio 15" sub and hold me 2 VR amplifiers. It hits good and covered the area where there is no carpet, we are still in the process of tuning the setup so the box isnt covered in carpet yet. Once its done I'll get pics.

I beleive it was $60. It fit fine and the carpet is actually made by "Trim Parts"
The only thing about it tho is that its not designed to cover up the top gas tanks humps were the tank gets bolted down. You can make a piece out of board like the other guys did in previous posts and then cover it with the supplied carpet. The carpet is sent a little long so you can cut it if needed.

there is a company called rod doors that makes a ABS plastic piece that I believe snaps to the body and you use headliner adheasive to glue carpet down to it, its a nice way to do it. they have a website, I think it is www.roddoors.com, try them out, they are in Chico CA

Sorry to highjack this thread, but for you guys that have removed the tank, have you all welded up the filler neck hole on the cab body? I would like to do something less permanent. Is there a rubber block-off grommet available, or something similar?

Tim240Z - I haven't seen any type of block-off grommet - mine is welded up.

I bought a plastic gas cap and drilled holes on the threaded end and did the same thing as the bolt but used tie raps to secure it before I had it welded up.

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
