Whats this truck worth
Haven't gone to look at it yet but here is what I know.
72 1/2 ton 2wd cheyenne Frame and chassis complete front and rear suspension/axle Cab is there with no windshield (been out a few weeks he said) It is an AC cab with all components there Bed is gone I was mainly looking for a rear axle to get 5 bolt flanges. He would sell the axle for $75 bucks. Then talking some more said he would take $200 for the entire truck. Got me thinking I could just unbolt the entire front crossmember and swap it into my 70 saving some work of piecing that end together. Maybe I could also use the AC stuff and get that swapped to? Is it worth it?

Questions:
1. Is it LWB or SWB? 2. Why is the windshield gone? Was it leaking before? If so for how long? Is there rust in the cab and where? 3. Do you need the frame or AC cab? 4. I assume it doesn't have an engine??? Transmission??? Driveline??? If the cab isn't too rusted, and you do want the frame or can use it for another project, then this is a good deal. If it's a SWB frame then this is a killer deal. Make sure the rear axle is still sealed and water or dirt hasn't gotten in and destroyed it before you buy it. You don't want the entire reason for making the purchase to be pointless when you finally get it home.

No engine, trans, or driveshaft. He sold the windshield to somebody else. The truck has been parked for about 10 years and being parted out. It is a LWB truck.
I don't know about the rust, haven't seen it. He did say it had the usual rocker and cab corner problems for shure.

i'd start by offering $100 and you can dicker from there still $200 doesnt sound too bad if the rear and trailing arms are good that's worth the $200 alone

If it's been sitting for 10 years that rear axle could be in serious trouble. Just a warning.
I rescued my truck out of a hay field after sitting for 2 years. The axle seals dried out, and let dirt, moisture, and other contaminants get around the axles and into the differential housing. By the time I got it most of the gear oil had leaked out, carrier bearings were set up to destroy themselves, and there was a considerable amount of surface rust on everything. In short the thing was in seriously bad shape. It had been moved a couple of times with a tractor and log chain, so the spiders were messed up. Take a wrench with you and open that filler plug. Stick your finger in there and see if there's any gear oil, moisture, rust or anything else. You may just be paying for an axle housing and everything else is crap.

I was planning on cracking the cover off before I buy it. As long as the shafts are good is really all I need/want.
