Howdy !
I do not currently have a truck yet, but hope to by the end of this year. My first vehicle was a 1972 Chevy Cheyenne Super, short/wide box, white cab & the rest Grapefruit Yellow, hounds tooth black & white bench seat, AC, Tach, 307 & 3 speed auto. CB radio and “high tech” cassette player were added along with the mud flaps, bug shield, fog lights, hood ornament and tonneau cover (lots of holes drilled into that bed for the snaps – argh). Loved that truck and was the ONLY vehicle that I never listed for sale. A truck driver was honking his horn on 28th Street in Boulder Colorado in front of Woolworths (remember those) in about 1984 and signaled with his hand to roll down the window, which my wife did, he asked how much, as usual my wife said it’s not for sale, he said “no, really, give me your ridiculous price”, I told my wife “tell him $3500”, she told him and he said “pull over”. We pulled into the Woolworth's parking lot, talked a little, he drove it around the parking lot and said “I’ll take it”. I said I’d think about it. Needless to say I sold it as I had been eyeing this candy apple red Ford Mustang GT fastback that had been torn down and repainted, but was all apart and the guy was not going anywhere with it so I ended up buying it and putting it back together. Anyway, that’s been my favorite truck as well as my brothers and now after having gone thru a lot of vehicles in my time I want my first love back. So I’m looking for a 1969 – 1972 short/wide box, preferably in decent shape and close to original condition as possible.
If anyone on this web site happens to be the owner of VIN: CCE142Z163463 I can provide them with some history of the truck. Shoot me a PM.
I’m attaching a couple of the best pictures that I have.
