One Piece Jack Handle - ??

I've seen references to a 1967 only (?) one piece non-folding jack handle but can not find any solid info on it after doing several attempts searching for such. Have had this handle for quite some time, thinking I got it several years ago along with a few other parts when I was looking to first restore my '71 4x4. It's like any other folding jack handle except it doesn't fold. NO markings on it at all, measures 48 1/2'' to the first curve, 8'' to the next curve and 4'' for the grip handle.

Anyone who has a '67 Chevy or GMC with a known intact and original jack set who can confirm these measurements to be consistent for a '67 only jack handle? I did learn that the jack handle being one piece mounts to the floor under the seat with some specific hardware.

Will post up some pics tomorrow as it's too dark right now to get decent pics.

That would be great, if at all possible maybe a pic or two of the jack handle and mounting brackets? The actual handle measurements would help a lot, hopefully to match the one piece handle I have. The mounting brackets may be a bit harder to get a pic of them with the seat being in the way. I noticed in your signature that you have a '68 GMC 920. That being a Canadian truck, is it a 3/4 ton?

Re: One Piece Jack Handle - ??

Totally different than what I have in mind for the jack handle for a '67. Is that jack original to the truck from new? Maybe a Canadian supplied truck jack (?) but the hydraulic bottle jack would be in-correct from my understanding for all 67-72 GM trucks here in the US. The standard jack supplied would be a screw type jack using a long handle to operate the screw fitting of the jack. Adding a pic of a complete jack set showing what I am referring to, altho for '67 the jack handle does NOT fold as in the pic. Pic shows a 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton lug wrench, only one would be supplied with the truck when new. A one piece jack handle with a 48 1/2'' straight run, a 90 degree bend for an 8'' run and then another 90 degree bend for a 4'' length. Will post a pic tomorrow of the one piece handle and the folding handle I have together which might explain better. "One pic is worth a thousand words" kind of thing.

Re: One Piece Jack Handle - ??

I'm just curious how it would mount to the floor in a 67 under the seat being that long. I thought thats why it had a fold in it. Pictures will help

Re: One Piece Jack Handle - ??

Took a couple pics of the straight one piece handle and the folding handle. Nearly identical with only a slight difference to the folding handle having a more gentle bend.

As to the straight jack handle fitting under the seat, both the '67 truck bench seats and some "early '68 ? " truck bench seats folded forward away from the gas tank. That would make storing the straight jack handle back in position much easier. That's some of the info I'm trying to find out from any board member who has an original '67 truck with the known history of it for originality. Inquiring minds want to know, LOL.

Re: One Piece Jack Handle - ??

Surely some one has some good, solid and true info about the '67 one piece jack handle I've seen reference to. Looking for that member who has a known original unmolested example with everything intact. A true time capsule for learning and knowledge. My '71 4x4 was so rough, rode hard, put away wet and ragged on but......it being a long bed 4x4 to me it was a diamond in the rough. Need an exact opposite for '67 that is as delivered with no major changes made from factory.
