250 air cleaner
All,
I upgraded to a 11" brake booster when adding disc brakes and original air cleaner no longer fits on the monojet single barrel carb. What is best solution? With tighter clearance it seems a 8-9" air cleaner is as large as I can go. The carb has a manual choke so I need to figure out about a 1" rise as well. Any direction would be appreciated. |

Re: 250 air cleaner
Safety concern for you.
Move or eliminate that fuel filter. They tend to crack and leak. Not a good spot over the exhaust. |

Re: 250 air cleaner
^ Indeed. I had one of those on my '66 Le Mans that was dripping on the intake manifold exhaust crossover. Crazy. I'm actually considering replacing the fuel filter on my truck with something like the inline filter that the general put between the tank and the fuel pump.

Re: 250 air cleaner
If you’re not worried about originality try a search on mini air filters found this real quick . And ditch that filter asap they tend to leak .
