new 3800 owner

Hi Everyone,
New to this forum,
I just was given a 51 chevy 3800. All the sheet metal is intact and in fairly good condition, The engine, trans, cooling system and gauges and interior trim are missing.
I have always wanted a 47 to 54 chevy 1/2 truck , but this one just fell into my lap, so trying to figure out what to do with it. To do a s-10 frame swap I would have to add 20" to the xtra cab LB frame, seems like the wrong thing to do with this truck. keeping it original but making it more reliable, comfortable and safe to drive, then I could use it as my company truck. I am a little worried about the cost, and I have limited indoor space to work.
I do auto body work for a living and own my own metal art/fab business so I can do most of the work myself.
So my questions is what are my options to upgrade the drive train, suspension, brakes, and moving the fuel tank and acquiring all the missing parts.
I think it originally had a 216 engine with a floor shift manual trans.
