It is either a 76 with a 73/74 grill...or it is a 73/74.

either way...it is a sad picture.

i think he meant his dad bought the '74 in '76, when it was 2 years old.

i said it looked worse, i didnt say it didnt run like a rapped ape newer engine after he blew up the original, smaller but it works. gonna put a 1973 quadrajet on it when i get done rebuilding it. then gotta find a front clip, and bed, and doors... somehow the cab is almost perfect though needs outside of right rocker, left rocker, and a lil flat strip about 2x5 on each cab corner... the corners are rusted but the way they rusted it looks more like a crack then a rust hole

Cool, I have a 74 GMC. Im in the process of restoring it. I have bought both fenders, hood,tailgate two doors from a 84 and replaced the old original shortbed with a 81 shortbed. Its taking forever but I will do it!! Here are some pics..
