72' SWB w/ Straight 6 and Auto RARE???

Hello Everyone, this is my first post, lots of good information here.
I've just recently acquired my 3rd 72 SWB. This one is an untouched all factory pickup, it has the straight 6 with Automatic, first one I've ever seen this way, didn't know how common this was, anyone else have one or seen one. Thanks.....

My '68 came with a 250 and a powerglide from the factory.

Hey, thanks for the reply, mine has the TH350.... There's probably some around I just haven't seen any, didn't know if this pickup was ordered this way or if they were more common than that.

I'd say rare in terms of production # percentage but not in terms of "desirability". It would have been something special ordered more likely than not. Most plain jane sixes were coupled with 3 speed column manual trannys.

FYI, I've also seen the opposite, a big block with a 3 on the tree.

Ahh the good old days when you could check off any RPO without having them packaged.

Definately not desirable in my opion either, just hate to replace the 6 with the LS1 I've purchased if it's something that could be desirable to someone else. I've never personally been one to restore a pickup to it's original state, but got nothing against it either.....Thanks for the feedback.....
