I remembered Pearl Harbor (where my Father-in-law and 2 uncles served and survived ) by reminding a group of drivers about it in a safety meeting this morning . The topic for the safety meeting was General Awareness for Hazmat Drivers , especially concerning Terrorism .

Who cares how long it has been.
It doesn't matter how long it has been to me.........it was just like yesterday.
I will never forget.
People have slammed me all my life for trying only to buy Made in USA stuff.

If you really took the time to see what the japs are really like you'd never buy another TV again.

I hate slops.
I bet the families that lost husbands, brothers, fathers, uncles, & cousins care how long it has been.

I bet they have been reminded every single day for the past 63 years.

The fact that you don't like Asians has nothing to do with the fact that this date should always be remembered.

I don't understand what Mike is saying and perhaps it's better that I don't. If it's a slam against our WWII veterans it is inexcusable.

I watched Tora, Tora, Tora last night. Man, what a movie. It's amazing that they had so many Zero's flying in the air, and blew up all those full size P-51's on the ground! Almost the whole attack was recreated with real planes, real ships, and real pyrotechnic explosions. Infinity better than that turd Pearl Harbor (the movie). The computer graphics in that movie were just atrocious.

The Zero's and Val dive bombers were converted Texan trainers, which even unmodified have many similarities to both planes. Not sure of the mustangs tho..there were alot of them sold over the years. Movie was very well done for its time...quite an accomplishment without the use of all the computer effects of today. The movie "The Final Countdown" (good show) also used converted Texans for zeros, prob leftovers from Tora as well.

Oops, my mistake. P-51's weren't into heavy production until late '41. I guess I need to go back and read my aircraft history books again.

And you would think that since Mike hates the Japanese so much, he would know the correct derogatory slang to call them...

I have always remembered 'Pearl Harbor' and hope to one day visit it. I have a friend who was stationed there a couple years ago. I also have several books about it, including pictures of the aftermath of the clean up/recovery time.

If I had my way, I would visit every battle site I could, just to be where our heros fought and died. I have watched the movie " Band of Brothers" twice since I have it too. And love to here the veterans tell there stories. I wish my grandfather would have talked to me about it. I know he was among those in the return landings to the Phillipines. He experienced a few flashbacks when he was under medication before he died. Which made me wonder what he was "seeing" again and who.
There is a song called "POW 369" that is a great song and I wish the radio stations would play. I forget who sings it, I think Mark Wills.

All of the "old" people I see who I am sure were in service during the war IMO are pure history walking among us who WE will lose one day and never know what they do. We will only know what is in the books when they are gone. That bothers me because there are so many stories to be known that never will be. And many unsung heros in my "book".

There is a Lincoln I occasionally see on base with the license plate of "B17 PLT" that I hope to see the gentleman getting to or out of his car. Because he deserves my salute IMO.

Respect the elderly and the veterans especially, they have lived through more troubled times than you have or may ever know. And beause of them, you can have what you have now.

Ok, I am off the podium now.
