One piece windows
A question for those who have done 1 piece windows. Should you put some sort of sealant( eg. silacone or windshield urathane) where the filler piece meets the door? Also any tips you can pass along? Thanks, Mike

I would weld solid or spot weld and then use the seam sealer like is used in the roof line of the cab!

Well it's a aluminum filler for the coroner so it's kinda hard to weld it to steel. I think a small amount of black urathane would be a good idea. I did not do it to mine but now that it have been talked about I think it would be a good Idea..
I would advise to tape the entire window opening up with a masking tape like the Green 3M. To prevent paint chips. Don't strech the window setting tape it wil cause a little play in the window side to side. I would also use the urathane to hold the front window channel guide in the steel track. And dontr peel the chrome strip off the vent window. You may need to cut the bolt shorter that holds the rear channel in place. I drilled a hole thru the front of the scraper's to hold them from getting dragged down when you roll the window down. It's kinda trickey to get the drillin there but doable. Oh and grow a extra set of arms to help you install the side window.

Please weld up the Indent from the old Vent window post on the inside of the door. Oh the screws on the top of the door and dimple on a 72 door.. I missed the Indent along the lower window opening when I did the body work on my 67 and it punches me in the face every time I look at it.

Did you front channel fit the filler piece ? I had to file the slot at the top of the filler piece bigger so the front channel would fit. That's th epiece I would reccomend glueing the weatherstripping into. Mine moves around quite a bit. I am going to pull the windows and glue it in.

nope but my bench grinder is EXACTALY the width it needed to be so that was a very easy thing to take care of. i already glued it on to the front channel. it was way too loose to feel ok about leaving. i actually have doors from a 69 goin on so there is no hole to worry about
