Carter 9635 AFB
I just pulled the carb from my old project Suburban. It turns out I had a 625 CFM Carter AFB on a 454. I'm thinking of rebuilding the carb. Does anyone know if this translates to an Edelbrock number? It's not a full-blown Q-Jet style spread bore, but the primaries are smaller in diameter than the secondaries.

It would be equal to Edelbrocks 1406.

Thanks. I guess EDL-1477 Recarb kit is the right stuff, then?

right front mounting ear will have carter carb # on it for parts.you can get a carb kit for that from your local parts store in a different brand(borg-warner,in-house brand, etc.,),and probably save some bucks over the paying the high cost of the edelbrock name.good luck

Look here at Summit part number CRT-902317A:http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...=egnsearch.asp
The EDL kit looks to have more parts for about 10 bucks so it might be worth it to just get it.

Edelbrock 1477 kits run about $33 at the local hot rod shop here. Jeg's wants $35 (+ 10 "handling"). Sweet -- I can get a real Carter zip kit from Summit.
