Re: run your torch on water..
Cool, but our own gov and oil business are too far into the hole. Brazil has cars that run 100% on fuel from sugar cane (flex cars). They buy from the Ford and GM and VW. The solutions exist, but so much of the economy evolves around oil.

Re: run your torch on water..
Any of you watch the Indy 500??
They were using 10% ethenol in their fuel. They said it is the same as what they use in our gas as an additive. Next year they said they will 100% Ethenol. Must have some punch to run in an Indy car. Time to start growing some corn!

Re: run your torch on water..
That E-85 stuff thats supposed to be comming out is 110 octane so us high compression lovers can run no problem now...except that its alcohol and needs a few engine mods.

Re: run your torch on water..
Longhair is absolutely correct. Indy cars have been running methanol (another form of alcohol based fuel) for ages. I may be wrong, but I think they switched from gasoline to methanol sometime during the 40's or early 50's.
They added the 10% ETHANOL for advertising/marketing purposes. ETHANOL "bought" it's way into the game. |

Re: run your torch on water..
Funny how a few years ago they had to warn you if there was alcohol in your fuel.

Re: run your torch on water..
Energy in: H2O->HHO = Energy out: HHO->H2O. There is no net surplus of power in the equation. Remember the law of conservation of energy? In fact there are energy losses in such a process (no system is perfect). So the dream of filling your tank with water and off you go is not here yet. I think he must have a breakthrough with this HHO thing, but it still requires an external source of energy. Water can be used as a storage/transfer medium for energy, but not as a source of it. Not without a nuclear breakthrough... Perhaps the HHO is a more efficient means for using water as a storage/transfer medium.
