Need more power from a 1991 454

I recently bought a motorhome for going to Nascar races with. Its a 1991 30' Fleetwood with a 454 that only has 35,000 miles. I was looking to get more power in the ways of low end torque to get up hills and on the higway a little better. I was going to put a new intake and carb on but upon further inspection its a TBI 454. I looked into a Banks power pack but thats $2100.00 a little to much for me. Any ideas on boosting the power on one of these engines.
