Carb Adjustment Tools
I'm not sure what i'm asking because i'm not much of a mechanic but here it goes...
The carb on my 86 C-10 is not an original one. I'm not sure what it came off of. Anyways, it's an older model QJet that works ok. The issue i'm having is that the air/fuel jets don't have the standard philips head. It looks like a flat head end of a screwdriver and it's recessed (not really visible like the philips heads). I'm running REALLY rich and i need to tune it but i don't have any tools to fix it. I'll need a tool that has a female end that will accept the flat head end. Does anyone know what i'm talking about? |

Re: Carb Adjustment Tools
Yes, You should be able to buy a tool at the auto parts store for this. Mine has a screwdriver type handle attache to a flex shaft about 18" long. It has a number of different bits that fit different types of adjusting screws.

Re: Carb Adjustment Tools
I've checked those. Those fittings looked like nut driver fittings. It's a pack of 4 different ends on the flexible screwdriver and none of them will work.

Re: Carb Adjustment Tools
Find some vacuum hose that will fit tightly over the screw heads. Use a short piece to adjust the screws. You can get real fancy and put some on the end of a Phillips-head, but the hose itself sometimes works fine.
