84' to 89' Face Lift....
If I were to do the face lift like to an 89' Suburban, what will I need to change? I'm tracking that I'll need the grille, headlight doors, and headlights. But I was wondering if I could get some clarification into whether or not I would need a new radiator support, wiring harness, fenders, hood etc. Also, if I were to try and make my crew have p/w, p/l how do we do that also? Thanks.

yes you need a radiator support and i dont believe you need to change the fenders and hood. the wiring can be modified easy enough

Re: 84' to 89' Face Lift....
How hard is it t swap out the radiator support? Is it just a matter or loosening and tightening some bolts or is it more along the lines of hacking and welding???

unbolt all the bolts to the support, unbolt the 2 radiator mounts loosen the fenders and pull it out. It isn't a cake walk getting the new on in, but it can be done. GMChemist did this to his.

I was going to do the same thing, and aquired all the parts. Mine was going from a 78 to an 89, and for anyone interested in doing a conversion like that you will also need the wiper transmission assy. as it has longer shafts for the wiper arms to connect to. It will require drilling a new mounting hole. You will also need the plastic apron that goes below the windshield as the 73-80 style hood is different than the 81 and newer.
Lastly, for the early conversion, you will need to locate and drill a hole on top of the firewall to properly mount the fenders, I think the article below shows that in detail. There is an article here that shows most of what you need to consider http://coloradok5.com/grilleswap.shtml It's not hard at all, just take your time. As for the headlight wiring, if you don't have it, you can use either the factory one from a 89-91 Blazer or Suburban, or the same one is used by the van's that have the 4 light setup.. Hope it helps, Drew Run down on parts for a 73-80 to a 89 Burb conversion.
That is most of it I think..
