seat recovering from GM

I bought a set of seats this week out of a 97 1 ton to put in my 71. Buckets with a console. The guy I bought them from said that you could go to Gm and get factory covers for them still, supposedly cheaper than having them recovered. Does anyone know anything about this and maybe a ballpark figure on the cost?

I haven't heard of this but i'm sure they do sell covers in the parts dept. Are these the type with the integrated belts? I have a 402040 set myself with the integrated belts. Mine need recovered and planned on paying for a local custom shop to do it in black vinyl, but if i could get a factory leather cover dor a reasonable price that'd be really cool.

Re: seat recovering from GM

Usually those seat covers are pretty high. I do upholstery on the side, and honestlly with the cost of materials now. It's gunna cost 2-300bucks no matter what. And that is low balling it from what I have seen, and done.
