Talking Northern Tools Auto Darkening Welding Helmet

Just got this. Read the reviews over at Northern Tool and went ahead and ordered it. It rocks, makes welding so much easier. Auto darkening, adjustable darkness from 9-13. Solar powered. 1/25,000 switch time. Great budget helmet for the hobbyist welder. http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...1850_200311850

Re: Northern Tools Auto Darkening Welding Helmet

I agree with Sinister,

My boss bought one for me to use at work, That was 3yrs ago and it's still working fine. I mentioned to him how good it worked and he bought me one for my home shop.

I have found their good hoods for the price !

In my case free !

Re: Northern Tools Auto Darkening Welding Helmet

I used to use a harbor freight auto darkening helmet but it was very uncomfortable and then when I started going to college for stick welding I bought a Hobart helmet and I am very happy with that helmet is is very comfortable and works awesome. My next helmet is going to be one of the miller elite helmets they are sweet. But I wont buy one till I get into TIG class I don't want the stick to burn a nice helmet up.
