Cal-Tracs - Anyone here make any?

I found a site that shows how to make them and I am planning on doing this when I get the V8 put in my truck because right now with the 6 cyl it has really bad wheel hop when you rev it and dump it so with the V8 I really don't want to run it to that plus I plan on putting a posi of some sort in since I already have a 12 bolt and 3.73 gears.

I am just curious if any of you guys have made any and if you have any pics of the final result.

here is a link for the plans I am going to be using.

Re: Cal-Tracs - Anyone here make any?

Do you have leaf or coil springs in the rear? I have coils / 454 / Auto / Detroit Locker / Ford 9" and only get wheel hop if I have to much air in the tires. I started a thread about wheel hop some time back and found the answer to MY wheel hop to be air pressure. I put it down to 25 psi and now I get 2 smooth black lines for as far as I want them to be with NO hopping: Lots of fun. Good luck

Do like I did and put a 250 I-6 in it with three on the tree and you will have no issues with wheel hop or spinning out Sure makes the tires last longer.

I have leaf springs and I don't want 2 black lines, I want to hook.
