I don't think anyone has done an actual study on it. I ran into that when I was gathering seat parts for the '71 4x4. I picked out the best seat from my stash but the adjusters were pretty rusty so I went to take a pair of nice adjusters off of another seat and noticed that they were different. Only problem is I don't remember what year truck the other seat came out of. I guess I will have to start marking the year of truck I take them out of I know that the covers are different too. Re: bench seat differences?
The best I can remember the '67 and '68 both had fold down backs.
At least my '67 and daughter-in-law's '68 does. Both appear to be original. I have also heard that some seats had more cushion in them even in the same year. Hope this helps. Danny

Re: bench seat differences?
There are some minor differences in seats. Not sure if all 67/68 folded as I've seen some that didn't don't know though if someone swapped it at sometime though. Differences in the scroll patterns designs between the years is the reason the covers vary. Always found the weak point on the seats to be the cross over rod that releases the locks for the adjustment and the springs in the seat on the drivers side.

Re: bench seat differences?
Too bad no one makes replacement covers for 67 seats with the textured vinyl. My bottom cushion was melted by PO, but the backrest vinyl is perfect. Wasn't someone on here looking for a sample to possibly get new material pressed? They could use mine! And my seat folds forward...
