47-55 1st Hood interchangeability ?
Does anyone know if 47-53 hoods will fit 54-55 1st series trucks? I would like to try my hand at pie cutting my 54 hood. My hood is in perfect condition. I would like to pie cut a different hood first. I believe I can do it but, I don't want to use mine as a guineapig.

All the parts suppliers have the 47-53 listed as a different part number than the 54-55 but they also list the hood latch panel as all the same, but I swear they look different to me.

The hoods are physically identical. The exceptions lie in the mounting for the side badging.
