Gas gauge issue
Looked at the gas gauge issue today. I found a ground wire on the frame, and when I pulled on it it was broken somewhere up above the tank. I found a loose end coming out of a loom right around the sending unit and hooked the ground up to that wire and now when I turn the key on the gauge goes all the way to E. Did I hook the ground wire to the sending wire? Not sure how they got broken, but apparently they are. Looks like to fix it I can either drop the tank or take off the bed......

Re: Gas gauge issue
The ground runs from the sender to the frame rail. The + lead rund from the loom (sounds like what you found) to a "post" on top of the sender right next to the fuel line.

Re: Gas gauge issue
Thanks, can't even see the sender, so going to have to drop the tank to be able to hook things back up the right way.
